Position Summary

Unitrans, a leader in passenger transport services, is seeking experienced and professional Bus Drivers to join our team in Mogwase. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for operating buses on scheduled routes, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers, and maintaining compliance with traffic laws and company policies. Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Passenger Transport: Safely driving buses on scheduled routes to transport passengers to their destinations on time.
2. Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in optimal condition and reporting any defects or malfunctions.
3. Safety Compliance: Adhering to traffic laws, speed limits, and company safety policies to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
4. Customer Service: Maintaining a positive attitude towards passengers and providing excellent service at all times.
5. Documentation: Completing logbooks accurately and recording all trip-related information, including incidents or accidents.
6. Incident Reporting: Reporting near misses, incidents, or property damage to management immediately.
7. Training Participation: Participating in safety training sessions, including DSS (Daily Safety Sessions) and other required programs.
8. Route Adherence: Following authorized routes and making stops only at designated locations unless instructed otherwise by a supervisor.
9. Vehicle Security: Ensuring the ignition keys are removed and the vehicle is securely parked after each trip.
10. Team Collaboration: Working closely with supervisors and other team members to maintain high standards of service and safety.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 12 or National Certificate.
• Licenses:
• A valid Public Services Driving License (PG).
• Additional license categories: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G.
• A valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Bus Driver or in a similar role.
• Skills:
• Mastery of defensive and preventive driving techniques.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor.
• Attributes:
• A commitment to safety and customer service.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role.
